Framed French copperplate engraving depicting the Tour de Justice at the Cité de Carcassonne, signed in the plate by Léopold Robin. The finely detailed architectural scene captures the medieval towers and ramparts of the historic fortified city.  The lower mat includes the traditional printmaking inscription:
“Estampe gravée sur cuivre imprimée en taille douce sur presse à bras.” which translates to copper engraving printed in intaglio on a hand press, indicating the traditional engraving technique used. The piece retains the original framer’s label on the reverse from Encadrement René Perrin, Cluses (France). Presented in a simple wood frame with decorative inner trim, it makes a charming piece of French architectural decor. 7"W x 9½"H  $85
