The basket is constructed from thin shaped wooden panels with scalloped upper edges, tapered sides, and a single arched handle running across the center. The warm brown surface shows layers of age, wear, rubbing, scratches, and traces of an old decorative finish, giving the piece an especially attractive timeworn patina.
