This richly colored still life captures a traditional tabletop scene with cut melon slices, grapes, figs, and a gleaming knife laid across a weathered surface. The dark background and realistic composition create a moody yet timeless ambiance — reminiscent of classical 19th-century academic still lifes, but likely painted in the early 20th century.

The canvas is presented in an ornate gilded frame with raised foliate and acanthus motifs. While the frame shows notable cracking and wear consistent with age, it adds to the authentic, timeworn charm of the piece.
