A beautiful antique French oyster plate by Mehun, France, featuring six molded oyster-shaped wells arranged around a central sauce well. The plate has a classic white glazed finish with shell-inspired relief details and a softly scalloped rim.
This style of oyster plate was popular in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, when specialized seafood service pieces were commonly used for entertaining. The underside is marked Mehun France, suggesting an antique or early 20th-century French export piece.
Perfect for serving oysters, shellfish, lemon wedges, sauces, or hors d’oeuvres, but equally lovely displayed on a wall, shelf, or plate stand as part of a French coastal or ironstone collection.

Please keep in mind when buying antique and vintage items you are purchasing something that is pre-loved. Most items show signs of age-related wear such as marks, variations of surface texture, minor scratches, and other issues associated with age. It’s what forms a part of the appearance of vintage pieces, but that’s also what makes them so unique. All sales are final. Don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions about a particular item. Thank you
