Antique French faience chamber pot by Sarreguemines U&Cie, decorated in the Sylvia pattern. The underside carries the blue “SYLVIA U&Cie SARREGUEMINES” factory mark along with a FRANCE mark.
The piece features a finely detailed blue transferware woodland scene with two game birds beneath leafy branches, surrounded at the rim by a delicate trailing floral and bird border. It dates 19th/early-20th-century French chamber pot.
Sarreguemines pieces marked U&Cie are associated with the Utzschneider-era factory, and documented Sarreguemines wares from this period are commonly dated to the late 19th century. The Sylvia pattern is also documented on surviving Sarreguemines U&Cie tableware.
