A beautiful antique French transferware plate from Sarreguemines, featuring the sought-after “Sylva” pattern by U&C (Utzschneider & Cie), dating to the late 19th–early 20th century. The finely detailed blue and white scene depicts a tranquil woodland setting with birds gathered beneath a tree, rendered with delicate linework and depth. The design is signed in the plate “Ph. Muller,” referencing the engraver of the original transfer, adding an extra layer of interest. The surface shows a soft, even craquelure consistent with age, enhancing its antique character. Fully marked on the reverse.
