A beautiful antique French panoramic harbor view of Cette, now known as Sète, on the Mediterranean coast of southern France. The image shows the port, boats, waterfront buildings, and the hills of Mont Saint-Clair in the background, with soft hand-colored tones of blue, peach, green, and ochre.
The piece is framed in a striking faux bois / tiger wood style frame with black trim, giving it a warm early 20th-century decorative look. The printed caption appears to read “Cette , Panorama de la Ville et Montagne Saint-Clair.” Since the town spelling changed from Cette to Sète in 1928, this likely dates to the early 1900s or early 20th century.

Please keep in mind when buying antique and vintage items you are purchasing something that is pre-loved. Most items show signs of age-related wear such as marks, variations of surface texture, minor scratches, and other issues associated with age. It’s what forms a part of the appearance of vintage pieces, but that’s also what makes them so unique. All sales are final. Don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions about a particular item. Thank you
