A sculpted in soft ivory-white bisque porcelain, the kitten features expressive eyes, pointed ears, delicately modeled paws, and an extended tail. The removable lid depicts the kitten lounging on draped fabric, while the lower portion resembles a traditional wicker basket with intricate basketweave detailing.
The matte, unglazed porcelain finish highlights the delicate sculptural details and gives this delightful piece a timeless elegance.
The underside bears a cursive mark that appears to read “Herbena,” associated with Hermann Behne of Berlin, Germany, an early 20th-century porcelain decorator. It measures 3½"W x 3"H

Please keep in mind when buying antique and vintage items you are purchasing something that is pre-loved. Most items show signs of age-related wear such as marks, variations of surface texture, minor scratches, and other issues associated with age. It’s what forms a part of the appearance of vintage pieces, but that’s also what makes them so unique. All sales are final. Don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions about a particular item. Thank you
