Antique French Hand-Colored Engraving, Woodland Bridge Landscape

An early 20th-century French hand-colored engraving depicting a peaceful woodland landscape with a small arched bridge crossing a stream.

The image was first printed in black and then enhanced by hand with delicate color washes in green, blue, ochre, and warm autumn tones. The unusually tall, narrow composition is especially decorative and is presented in its original carved wooden frame. The work is signed at the lower right, although the artist’s name remains difficult to identify with certainty.The frame retains its old backing and simple string hanger, adding to the authentic period character. It measures 5¼"W × 13½"H
