An antique French transferware creamer or small pitcher in the Cottage pattern, decorated in blue transfer on a creamy white ground. The rounded body features a series of sweet countryside vignettes, including birds, vegetables, rustic cottage scenes, a windmill, and leafy borders. The handle is decorated with a delicate trailing vine motif, and the interior rim carries a coordinating transfer border. The underside is marked COTTAGE. This pattern is associated with Compagnie Franco-Anglaise, a French ceramic maker and retailer based at 78 Rue Turbigo in Paris, known for producing and distributing terre de fer tableware in the late 19th and early 20th century.
