An antique French porcelain absinthe saucer or bistro coaster, marked “1F75” for 1 franc 75 centimes. These saucers were traditionally used in French cafés to indicate the price of an absinthe or drink serving, allowing waiters to tally the bill from the marked saucers left at the table.
This example has a simple cream-white glaze with a shallow well and classic café form. It shows age-related wear, surface marks, discoloration, and small imperfections consistent with antique use. A wonderful piece of French café history for collectors, bar styling, or display. It measures 5"D
