An antique figural rooster match holder and striker in dark cast metal, designed with wonderfully detailed feathering and a sculptural tabletop form. The rooster’s body forms a central receptacle, while the raised tail section holds matches in a small fluted cup.
The textured cast surface and elaborate bird form give the piece a strong decorative presence, while its original function makes it an especially interesting piece of antique smoking and fireside ephemera. It measures 6½"L x 3"W x 2½"H

Please keep in mind when buying antique and vintage items you are purchasing something that is pre-loved. Most items show signs of age-related wear such as marks, variations of surface texture, minor scratches, and other issues associated with age. It’s what forms a part of the appearance of vintage pieces, but that’s also what makes them so unique. All sales are final. Don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions about a particular item. Thank you
